Creating new characters for Amalfitano
My model railway is set in 1930s Italy. A fishing village untrampled by any tourism. It's a recreation of a community and its tiny railway. In the travel we have done, one of the things I was nostalgic about was the community gatherings people did after all work was done and dinner was finished and washed. It was the people who sat outside avoiding the heat by sitting outside enjoying the breeze with family and neighbors. Like an American porch, the front stoop was a gathering place for family and friends would gather to exchange stories, catch up on gossip and have a laugh.
This post gathers some photos from the internet I want to use to inspire my next group of characters. I want to recreate a couple of neighbors sitting outside a home. These pictures show villagers visiting with each other and exchanging stories.
